Nebraska Fishing Reviews Fish Ray
"Technology marches forward. Even in the world of angling, we fall in line to its marching cadence. GPS, Flashers,
depth finders, temp gauges...every year the technology that arises for anglers to use on the water takes us to new levels.
One thing that most manufacturers forget is that sometimes more technical doesn't necessarily translate into better equipment. If you have to have a PhD to operate your gear, then it might be a bit too high tech.
That's why I commend and applaud Manta Sonar. They have provided the average fisherman with a fish finding tool that is versatile and effective and yet simple. Just point squeeze and shoot!
One thing I have learned over nearly 30 years of fishing is that we all end up catching more fish when we narrow everything down to its simplest and purest form. The LCD display on the Manta units have big easy to read numbers without all the confusing pixel clutter that most fish finders have.
I know that most fisherman can't read their fish finders correctly. We get out on the boat together and they look at the fish finder and get a blank expression in their eyes as they try to comprehend what it is they are exactly seeing. The Manta units get rid of that hassle.
Don't get the impression that the Manta units are second class or sub par equipment. Not so people. Show me another brand of
depth finder that floats if it falls into the water. Lightweight and very economical to operate using only a 9 volt battery. Sweet.
For those of you who like more technically advanced tools, don't pass on the Manta units. Ice fishing season is coming and your Manta Ice fishing units can become invaluable tools when coupled with a GPS unit. Using your GPS unit, you can take readings along different spots of your favorite lake and correlate the data later on a computer to compile your own topo map. I have just such plans for more than a few lakes.
Float tubers, the Manta units are your answer to lightweight and portable depth
finding units. They come equipped with a sturdy lanyard and like I said previously, they float.
